Transliteration for Indian languages, even with the full-sized 108-key keyboards is a complex task due to the necessity to map the 26 letters of the English alphabet to more number of characters in Indian languages. The complexity increases even further due to conjuncts in Indian languages and different representations. The complexity grows exponentially when it comes down to mobile keypads as only 8-10 keys can be made use of. QuillMobile, based on the Quill engine , makes inputting Indian language text as simple as inputting english text by letting the user type in the letters phonetically, much like what t9 is for english input
