Mobile Media Revolution & India

April’s talk would be about mobile media revolution in India and speaker is Dr. Aditya Dev Sood of CKS.

Abstract of the topic

“Those seeking to be involved with the coming media revolutions that are bound to unfold in emerging economies such as India would be advised to leave behind the expectation that these regions shall merely ‘come online’ or replicate industrial societies’ adoption and enthusiasm for the web as it exists today. This will not merely be a web 3.0 or a mobile 2.0. The world of mobile media in India by the end of this decade will be more richly immersive, multiply-mediated and nuanced, using subtle forms of gesture, and movement — it will be an entire ecology, growing, shifting and changing at the rate of sociality itself.”

Aditya Dev Sood is the author of the Mobile Development Report, which offers a careful analysis of the social dynamics of mobile phone usage among urban and rural users from lower income backgrounds. It argues that new kinds of mobile enabled welfare and social services will not only revolutionize life in rural areas, but also represent the most important new opportunity for mobile ventures.

    Hello,
I am a student of National Law School of India University, Bangalore. We are researching on a seminar paper on ‘Patenting Computer Software’ as a part of our Patents Law and Practice Course. We wish to circulate a questionnaire to help us understand industry practice and policy regarding software patents.
I was referred to this forum by Dr. G. Venkatesh of SASKEN so as to get more industry people to answer the questionnaire.
If any of you could kindly take some time and answer the questionnaire, I would be extremely grateful.
The questionnaire is six pages and will not take more than 15 minutes to answer.
My mail id is and Kindly send me a mail and I will mail you the questionnaire.
